About Us: Established in 2000, Saving Grace Services began as a simple dog walking and pet sitting company on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Owner and CEO Grace Steckler started her business as a way to meld together two of her loves—her passion for pets and her enthusiasm for the Hill. Saving Grace Pet Care currently employs twelve full-time and five part-time dog walkers, all of whom share Grace’s love for animals. In fact, they often brave high humidity, drenching rains, and frigid snow and ice to prove it!

Now, eight years and more than 500 clients later, Grace is expanding her business to include additional services that can help ease the everyday stresses of the busy clients she serves. Her newest venture, Saving Grace Home Therapy, is an environmentally-friendly and green cleaning service on the Hill. Saving Grace Home Therapy’s goal is to eliminate the use of harsh chemicals in the home and reduce the hassles common with other area cleaning services.

Our Team: In addition to our clean teams and full- and part-time dog walkers and pet sitters, Saving Grace Services employs three managers to help support our clients:

Grace Steckler, CEO, Saving Grace Services
Grace spent 12 years in a convent teaching high school students before deciding she had another calling. She moved to Washington and founded Saving Grace in 2000, which she runs with the help of her husband and four children.

Jana Novak, COO, Saving Grace Pet Care
Jana spent nearly a decade working for Congress before deciding to focus on her writing, and has now published two books. She’s been a walker with Saving Grace Pet Care for nearly three years, and has served as the general manager for the past year.

Jennifer Clark, Manager, Saving Grace Home Therapy
Jenn and her husband have lived on the Hill for four years and enjoy the small community feel within the large city. She enjoyed working as a DC elementary school teacher. Jenn decided to stay home after the birth of her son and has recently joined the Saving Grace Services team.
