Ten years and more than 1000 clients later, Grace is expanding her business to include additional services that can help ease the everyday stresses of the busy clients she serves. Her newest venture, Saving Grace Home Therapy, is an environmentally-friendly and green cleaning service on the Hill. Saving Grace Home Therapy’s goal is to eliminate the use of harsh chemicals in the home and reduce the hassles common with other area cleaning services.
At Saving Grace Services, we’re always happy to answer any questions that you may have and provide you with detailed pricing information. See our "Contact Us" page to contact the individual service coordinators directly. We look forward to hearing from you!
In addition to our clean teams and full- and part-time dog walkers and pet sitters, Saving Grace Services employs four Coordinators to help support our clients:
Grace Steckler, CEO, Saving Grace Services
Grace spent 12 years in a convent and as a high school teacher before deciding she had another calling. She moved to Washington and founded Saving Grace in 2000, which she runs with the help of her husband and four children.
Karl Sidenstick, Dog Walking Coordinator, Saving Grace Pet Care
Karl has made Capitol Hill his home for over 24 years. After graduating from Johns Hopkins with a master's degree in environmental science he realized that he wasn't happy in the 9-5 world. He has worked as both a server and manager at many of our neighborhood bars and restaurants. At Saving Grace Karl is our very own dog-whisperer who charms even our most skeptical and discriminating canine clients.
Jill Comstock, Pet Sitting Coordinator, Saving Grace Pet Care
Ruthcarol Touhey, Weekend Coordinator, Saving Grace Pet Care
Ruthcarol Touhey lives with her husband, two kids, four cats and two dogs in nearby Anacostia. After four years as a birth doula and 13 years in Human Resources, she found her current and true happiness in dog walking and pet sitting with Saving Grace. When not with animals she can be found in-line skating, biking or hiking local trails with her family.
Laura Fitzsimmons, Operations Manager, Saving Grace Home Therapy
Laura, her husband, and their two cats enjoyed living on the Hill in 2009. They recently relocated to North Bethesda, MD where they spend much of their time on the bike trails. Laura worked as a Buyer and Planner for retail corporations before moving to DC. She has enjoyed the small business feel of Saving Grace Services for the past year and loves working on the Hill.

“Saving Grace is indeed my saving grace – and I give them my highest praise and recommendation.”
-- Carolyn C.
Hi Grace and Jana,
Saving Grace Dogwalkers has really been great for our family. It's
wonderful to know that our two dogs are getting exercise and quality
care duing the weekday walks. Our dogwalker really does a great job of
making sure that they get plenty of care and attention and they really
enjoy the social time with other dogs.

The Berry Family
“It's hard enough to leave our cats, Dulcinea and Crumpet, when we
travel, but knowing that Saving Grace is taking care of them, relieves
all of
our worries. The care they have provided over many years has kept
our "girls" happy and well-loved -- everything we could ask for
from a pet care company.”
-- Gilbert G.
“ I have used Saving Grace services since I moved to Capitol Hill, and Grace and her team have seriously lived up to their name! I have used both the dog walking and home therapy services, and they both exceeded my expectations. I was always happy knowing that my super skittish dog was in such caring hands when she was with one of Grace's walkers, and my favorite day to come home was after a home therapy session - they always did a fantastic job. This is a fantastic Hill company that makes everyone who uses their services really feel like a member of their extended family - they are responsive, attentive, caring, and flexible to almost any situation. I've recommended them a million times, and would do it a million times again. Thanks, Grace, Laura and the rest of the gang! ”
